The first game-playing gadget designed to be connected to a tv, the Brown Field was commercialized by Magnavox as the Odyssey in 1972. Baer’s model of the game ping-pong was seen by Nolan Bushnell, the co-founder of the early arcade firm Atari, and had his most important designer create a model of their very own, known as Pong.
